Questions

Questions? We've got answers.

Whether you're exploring a side hustle, flexible income or a full-time travel business — here's everything about the opportunity, the tools, the costs and what it takes to succeed.

Getting Started & Eligibility

1.Can I become a KinFares Advisor without any travel industry experience?+

Absolutely! You don't need to have worked for an airline, travel agency, or tour operator to apply. KinFares is designed to welcome motivated beginners alongside experienced travel professionals.

Through KinFares Academy, you'll learn how to search for flights and hotels, prepare customer quotes, understand booking procedures, and deliver professional customer service. You'll need to complete the required training and assessments before receiving booking access.

What matters most is your willingness to learn, your commitment to helping customers, and your ability to build trusted relationships.

2.Do I need a university degree, diploma, or professional qualification?+

A university degree or college diploma is generally not required to apply. You don't need a background in tourism, hospitality, or business management.

However, travel industry registration, certification, or training requirements may apply depending on where you live and operate. KinFares reviews eligibility and applicable requirements before authorizing advisors to sell travel.

3.Can I become an advisor while keeping my regular job?+

Yes! That's one of the most attractive aspects of the opportunity.

You can begin by helping customers during evenings, weekends, or other times that suit your schedule. You don't have to leave your current job to explore travel advising.

As your business develops, you can decide whether to remain part-time or dedicate more time to serving customers and growing your client base.

4.Can I really work from home? Do I need an office?+

Yes. KinFares is designed for home-based travel advisors.

You don't need to rent commercial office space or operate a traditional storefront. With a reliable internet connection, a computer, and the KinFares Advisor Hub, you can manage many of your business activities from home.

You can communicate with customers, search travel options, prepare quotes, and manage bookings online.

5.Do I need to be good at technology or learn complicated reservation systems?+

You don't need to be a technology expert.

KinFares's Advisor Hub is designed to make travel advising easier through a modern visual interface. For supported booking workflows, you won't need to memorize complicated reservation commands traditionally used in systems such as Sabre or Amadeus.

If you're comfortable using email, websites, and everyday computer applications, you already have a useful starting point. You'll receive training on the platform before beginning authorized bookings.

6.Who is KinFares looking for?+

We're looking for motivated people who enjoy helping others, communicate well, and are interested in building a customer-focused business.

You might be a working professional looking for additional income, a parent seeking flexibility, a newcomer with strong community connections, a student exploring entrepreneurship, or an experienced travel agent interested in modern booking tools.

Speaking multiple languages, understanding international travel, and having strong relationships within diaspora communities can be valuable advantages.

You don't need a large following or an existing travel business to apply.

Earnings & Business Growth

7.How do KinFares Advisors earn money?+

KinFares Advisors earn commissions from eligible travel bookings.

Under our commission-sharing model, you receive 70% of eligible net booking margin, while KinFares retains 30% to support the host-agency infrastructure, technology, training, and operations.

For example, if an eligible booking generates $150 in net margin, your 70% share would be $105.

Your earnings come from selling travel services and serving customers — not from recruiting other advisors.

8.How much money can I realistically earn?+

Your earning potential depends on your booking volume, booking margins, customer base, experience, and business expenses.

Independent industry research illustrates how earnings can differ by experience. Host Agency Reviews' 2024 research reported average annual income of approximately US$12,057 for newer hosted travel advisors and US$52,636 for experienced hosted advisors. Experienced full-time independently accredited advisors reported average income of approximately US$78,940.

These figures represent different groups of US travel professionals. They are not KinFares earnings, guaranteed outcomes, or forecasts for beginners.

Some advisors earn occasional supplemental income, while experienced professionals may build businesses generating substantially more.

Sources: Host Agency Reviews — Hosted Advisor Research and Independent Advisor Research.

9.Can I earn US$70,000 or more annually as a travel advisor?+

Yes, earnings above US$70,000 are documented in the established independent travel advisor industry.

However, reaching that level generally requires substantial sales activity, experience, reliable customer relationships, and a sustainable business model. It is not an expected starting income.

KinFares gives you tools and support to pursue your goals, but your actual earning potential depends on the business you build, the eligible margins on your bookings, and your expenses.

10.How soon can I start earning commissions?+

You can begin working toward your first commission after your application is approved, applicable membership requirements are completed, required training is passed, and booking access is activated.

How quickly you earn depends on when you acquire customers and complete qualifying bookings.

It's important to distinguish earning a commission from receiving payment. Commission eligibility and payout timing depend on the applicable booking and supplier terms, including cancellation or refund conditions.

11.Do I need to find my own customers, or will KinFares provide them?+

As an independent advisor, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining your own customer base.

Your first customers might come from friends, family, colleagues, community organizations, or personal referrals. Over time, satisfied customers and repeat bookings can help your business grow.

Your Advisor Hub and storefront provide tools to help you organize and promote your services. However, KinFares does not guarantee customer leads or a minimum number of bookings.

12.Can I eventually turn this into a full-time business?+

That's a goal you can work toward.

You might begin with a few customers each month and gradually develop a larger client base through referrals, repeat bookings, specialized travel services, and consistent marketing.

Some independent travel advisors make travel advising their primary occupation. Whether that becomes realistic for you will depend on sustained earnings, business costs, and your ability to serve customers reliably.

The beauty of starting part-time is that you can explore the opportunity while maintaining other income.

Membership, Pricing & Costs

13.Is it really free to apply?+

Yes! Applying to become a KinFares Advisor is completely free.

You'll complete an application so we can learn about your background, interests, experience, location, and motivation.

There's no obligation to purchase a membership simply because you apply. If approved, you can review the membership terms before deciding whether to proceed.

14.How much does it cost to become a KinFares Advisor?+

Our advertised membership structure is simple:

• $0 to apply

• US$99 one-time onboarding fee after approval

• US$49/month membership fee

• 70% of eligible net booking margin goes to you

These amounts should be confirmed in your membership agreement, including applicable currency, taxes, and any other charges.

Unlike many traditional businesses, you don't need to rent office space or purchase travel inventory upfront.

15.What do I receive for the $49 monthly membership?+

Your KinFares membership is designed to give you access to the essential infrastructure for operating your travel advisory business.

This includes the Advisor Hub, eligible flight and hotel booking tools, customer and booking management features, your advisor storefront, commission tracking, Academy training, and defined host-agency support.

The exact tools and services available to you depend on your membership agreement, training status, and platform rollout.

Instead of developing a booking platform independently, you can focus on serving customers and building your business.

16.Are there any other startup or operating expenses?+

KinFares is designed to keep startup overhead relatively low, but running any business may involve additional expenses.

For example, you may need a computer, internet access, a phone, optional marketing materials, or paid advertising if you choose to use it. Some locations may also have applicable registration or certification costs.

You should account for these expenses, membership fees, and your time when assessing potential profitability.

17.What happens if I don't make any bookings in a particular month?+

There is no guaranteed minimum number of bookings or commissions.

Some months may be busier than others, particularly when you're starting out or when travel demand fluctuates.

Your membership fees remain payable according to your agreement even if you don't make a booking. That's why we encourage prospective advisors to approach the opportunity with realistic expectations and a plan for reaching customers.

18.Can I cancel my membership if I decide travel advising isn't for me?+

We want applicants to make informed decisions without feeling pressured.

The ability to cancel, applicable notice periods, refund eligibility, and any outstanding obligations will be set out in your membership agreement.

Before enrolling, you'll be able to review the applicable cancellation terms so you understand your commitments.

Booking Tools, Products & Customer Support

19.What kinds of travel can I sell through KinFares?+

KinFares focuses on making international travel easier and more accessible, particularly for people travelling to visit family and friends.

Depending on the products and booking access available, advisors may help customers with flights, hotels, and supported travel packages.

Common journeys may include Toronto to Addis Ababa, Washington DC to Addis Ababa, Toronto to Lagos, New York to Accra, Toronto to Manila, and other international routes.

Available travel products, routes, and suppliers depend on current integrations, inventory, and advisor authorization.

20.Can I specialize in travel to my home country or community?+

Absolutely. In fact, understanding a particular community can be one of your strongest advantages.

Perhaps you know the common travel routes to Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana, Somalia, the Philippines, India, or Pakistan. You may understand local languages, holiday travel patterns, family needs, or baggage preferences.

That knowledge can help you provide more personalized assistance than a generic online booking experience.

You can develop a specialty around the communities and journeys you understand best, subject to the travel services you are authorized to offer.

21.Can I book flights and hotels for my own family and friends?+

Yes, you may be able to arrange eligible travel for family and friends using your advisor tools, subject to applicable supplier rules and KinFares policies.

This can be a natural way to gain experience and serve people who already trust you.

However, personal travel discounts, special rates, and commission eligibility are not guaranteed. Some suppliers restrict commissions on personal or related-party bookings.

22.Will I get my own website or online storefront?+

KinFares's Advisor Hub includes a branded advisor storefront feature designed to help you establish a professional presence within the platform.

Depending on available functionality, your storefront may display your advisor profile, contact information, specializations, and ways for potential customers to connect with you.

This helps you present yourself professionally without having to develop an entire travel website from scratch.

Your storefront is part of the KinFares platform rather than necessarily a separately owned website.

23.Who handles customer payments, booking confirmations, and travel documents?+

Customer bookings and payments must be completed through authorized KinFares and supplier workflows.

Depending on the product, a supplier or designated merchant of record may process customer payments and issue booking confirmations.

Advisors help customers understand their options, provide accurate information, and follow the approved booking process.

You should never collect customer funds through unauthorized personal accounts or payment methods.

24.What happens if a customer needs to change or cancel a booking?+

Changes and cancellations are a normal part of travel.

The options available depend on airline or hotel terms, fare conditions, and applicable consumer protection requirements. Some bookings may be refundable, while others may involve change fees, cancellation penalties, or restrictions.

As an advisor, you'll help communicate relevant information and follow the established support and escalation procedures.

KinFares will define the specific responsibilities of advisors, suppliers, and agency support in its operational policies.

Training, Technology & Support

25.What is KinFares Academy, and what will I learn?+

KinFares Academy is the training and development component of our advisor program.

It's designed to help you understand the travel business and become confident using KinFares's booking tools.

Training is intended to cover travel industry fundamentals, flight and hotel searches, travel quotations, customer communication, booking procedures, pricing, customer care, ethical sales practices, and relevant regulatory responsibilities.

The Academy will combine structured learning modules and assessments, with required onboarding completed before booking access is granted.

26.How difficult is the training? How long will it take?+

Our goal is to make training accessible, practical, and beginner-friendly.

You won't be expected to memorize complicated airline reservation codes just to navigate supported booking features.

The Academy is designed around manageable learning modules, allowing you to develop your knowledge step by step.

Actual training duration depends on the finalized curriculum, required assessments, and any additional regulatory requirements applicable to your location.

27.What happens if I need help with a customer booking?+

You'll have access to the support arrangements included in your advisor membership.

Training materials and documented procedures are intended to help you resolve common questions. More complex booking situations may require escalation to the KinFares team or relevant suppliers.

The level and timing of available assistance will be detailed in the advisor support policy.

Although advisors operate independently, the host-agency model is intended to provide professional infrastructure rather than requiring you to build every business process yourself.

Trust, Independence & Long-Term Opportunity

28.Am I working for KinFares as an employee, or running my own business?+

KinFares is designed around an independent advisor model.

You're building your own customer relationships and managing your travel advisory activities under the KinFares host-agency arrangement, rather than taking a salaried employee position.

KinFares provides the booking infrastructure, platform access, training, and support defined in your agreement.

Your rights, responsibilities, tax obligations, and permitted activities depend on your contract and applicable laws.

29.Is KinFares a legitimate business opportunity, or is this a recruitment-based scheme?+

KinFares's advisor model is based on the sale of travel services to customers.

You earn commissions from eligible bookings that you generate. You do not need to recruit other advisors to earn travel commissions.

The membership fees are intended to support access to booking technology, training, and agency infrastructure.

As with any independent business opportunity, you should carefully review the agreement, fees, licensing information, commission arrangements, and operating policies before joining.

KinFares should make its legal business identity, applicable travel-sales authorizations, and contractual terms available to applicants before enrollment.

30.Why should I choose KinFares instead of starting my own travel agency?+

Starting a standalone travel agency may require substantial preparation, including supplier relationships, booking systems, operational procedures, administrative infrastructure, and compliance with applicable regulations.

KinFares is designed to give approved independent advisors access to shared professional infrastructure without having to build all those systems themselves.

You can concentrate on learning the business, serving your community, finding customers, and developing long-term relationships.

And you can start with a relatively modest financial commitment compared with launching a traditional standalone agency.

You bring the ambition, relationships, and commitment. KinFares provides the tools and support to help you get started.
